Grenadier Estates working in partnership with our contractor Devon Contractors Ltd have been continually reviewing the position in light of the Covid-19 situation. Following government advice and guidance we have agreed for Devon Contractors to undertake a limited programme of works at Sideshore.
Site activity will be restricted to key operations, primarily to ensure the security and safety of the site, to protect work that has been part completed, and progress the project. The site will operate with the safety of staff, the public, and contractors foremost in our minds at this difficult time.
Devon Contractors have advised Grenadier they are committed to operating the site fully in accordance with the guidance issued on 14th April 2020 by the Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, particularly regarding Site Operating Procedures. Devon Contractors are providing measures to help ensuring all individuals on site are complying with UK Government guidance regarding hygiene and social distancing. Individuals are also aware of the requirement for self-isolation where they or any members of their family or household experience any known symptoms of Covid-19.
Safety is our primary concern and additional measures will include:
– The number of staff on site will be kept to a minimum.
– Daily briefings and induction to procedures will be undertaken to ensure workers operate safe programmes of work based around single-person or socially distanced working patterns.
– Maintenance of a high standard of hygiene throughout the site, with ready access to soap and sanitisers and other hygiene and protective equipment.
– Posters and other reminders to all individuals on site to reinforce good Health & Safety and hygiene practices
What work is being undertaken?
As of the 4th May, the following works will commence:
– Roofing works to Café / Restaurant to ensure structure is watertight
– Superstructure blockwork / stonework to protect from the elements
– Off-site drainage connection
– Plant Room roof construction
– Underfloor heating
Devon Contractors and Grenadier will regularly monitor and review all safety measures in line with the latest Government guidance to ensure the health and safety of all staff working on the site.
